The worst period of my day is P.E. We don't even do anything in P.E. that's important..I don't see why we need it. It's completely useless to have it as a grade, in the grade book, and it be an important part of our school day. I do understand that most of America needs physical education, but I don't see why the other people should do it. I believe it also shows the weakest and laziest of our grade. It really isn't fair because some kids are just born athletic.
Studies show that a large percent of America's population is obese. I do think that those people should still get attention physically. However, the other kids that are not, shouldn't be forced to do it. A good idea is to have an after school program to help those kids. Maybe if the people that just really love exercise, could go to the after school program too. No one would be forcing kids to go, maybe their parents, so they could have a choice. I know what you're probably thinking, " If we did that then you could argue with the other subjects about that." Well, the other subjects we need later in life. Kids don't realize it but, Math, English, Science, etc, we need that stuff later in life. Such as, when we have kids or get a job. P.E. we won't need later in life. Later in life we won't need to know how to sprint a mile run. We especially won't need to know how to get hit in the face with a ball everyday.
P.E. shows the weakest and the laziest of the grade also. Some kids just don't feel like running. I don't blame them. Our P.E. teachers shouldn't get mad, though, if we walk 1-2 laps. Walking is also good for your body. It shows the weakest too. Some kids, really, just can't run or do much active. At my school we have a rotating schedule and every time we have P.E, first, we have to run the mile. They expect us to run the mile after, staying up late, studying for a test that we are taking that day all night? Ha! They're crazy! It also isn't fair that some kids tease you because you're slower than them. Some kids are born with the athlete gene. They were born to run day and night. They were born with the perfect lungs, to breath amazing while running. Born with perfect legs, so they never get tired and walk or stop. Perfect heart and organs, so they all work perfectly at the same time, so blood gets to every part of your body. Making your whole body full of energy all the time( without poring a gallon of sugar down you throat.) Also they probably have the perfect stomach to keep down their breakfast. Luckily we get a break from all the running and being out of breath, once a week(Sometimes).
Having P.E. is a waste of 50 minutes of my life. Also if we are late we have to run a lap. It's not our fault our school can't afford a bigger locker room. (Yeah, we have to dress in front of each other). Our locker room is too small, that we have to wait outside for some of the other girls to get out, so we can get in. This is worse after P.E. is over, changing into our street clothes. Sometimes our teacher keeps us out of the locker room to long and we have to change super fast or we will be really late. Most of the time we are late and they don't give us passes.
In conclusion, P.E. is something our schools really don't need. If you really need to, than we should have a after school program. P.E. compares the weakest, strongest, and laziest to each other and pretty much grades us on it. In this video, it shows the two sides of a game that we don't even do in P.E. at our school. P.E. would probably be actually a little fun if we did. This is why I think P.E. is dumb and it should be taken out of our day at school.
