P.E. in middle school. My personal opinion on middle school P.E. is that I really don't care for it. The importance of P.E. is quite high for some people, but for others who don't like playing specific sports. People who don't like playing specific sports usually end up not even trying and end up hating P.E. An article that helped me figure out my opinion is linked above.
I personally have one activity that I think should not be played. That activity would be dodge ball. Why dodge ball? Well because it shows students that you can angrily throw dodge balls at people for fun. Also some students get out of the game very soon, which causes them to just sit there till the end of the game.
Most of the time we play sports like baseball and volleyball. A lot of students might not like either of those games. Usually those people end up not trying and just stand out in the field talking. What good is P.E. if you don't like doing the sports. I believe everyone should have a choice of what activity they want to do.
Many P.E. teachers just make the students run and then run some more. It does nothing if the students are being forced to run they usually just walk or don't try, and sometimes complain about it.
I get asked the same question quite often. Do you like P.E.? If not then why not? If so then why? I don't like P.E. One reason why is that I'm allergic to grass and I don't get to participate in certain activities, like baseball. Another reason nothing we do actually a noticeably affects my health. And lastly a majority of the students just complain about little things like doing 5 sit ups.
