Pick Your Poem

Physical education for middle school students can be an iffy subject. A lot of schools don't find alright for kids to be forced to do an activity they don't like. I agree, kids should have the option to choose what they want to play for P.E. I can recall only running laps for P.E. and that was it. kids don't enjoy that therefore they don't put the kind of effort into it as they should.
Not everyone is good at a certain sport. A lot of students become humiliated when they lose. But, as a school they need to prepare students to survive in the real world. Babying them so they won't have the option to lose isn't fair for them in the long run.
Sure, watching a child lose or get hurt during a sport isn't fun. But, it never is. Kids need to learn now what it's like to be a loser at some things. You can't succeed at everything. It's a great life lesson.
Sometimes putting the image of being a winner can go to a child’s head. Making them feel dominant over other kids and becoming bullies. But, it’s good to know that you are the best at something. And if the other students don’t like it then they can get better!
