Physical fitness should be highly recommended to students in schools every single day whether you are running laps one day or playing dodgeball the next. It doesn't matter what students get to do or choose to do, but as long as it has something to do with excercising and moving your body because you never know what kids do when they get home. Some kids hardly ever go out and play wand those are the ones who need to do P.E. every day and run a few extra laps just to make sure they stay fit and they have a healthy heart. But, some kids do go out and play with their friends and excercise, good for them, but we still need to watch out and make sure every student has time to excercise daily. Even if P.E. is only for 10 minutes a day, it still can make a difference in kids lives. They should at least have physical education for an hour a day, just to make sure kids are staying active. Also, schools should have kids do what they choose to during P.E. some days so we at least know that they are going to stay active picking what they want to do. Some kids might not like dodgeball, but are still forced to play, which leads to no cooperation with that student, maybe injuries, and lack of having a healthy lifestyle. So we still want the child to have P.E. everyday, but just get their opinion on what they want to do and let them do it so they can stay active and enjoy what they are doing. As a team we can build our students up into a strong, healthy, and encouraged teenager and into adults.
Also, healthy living includes a healthy diet. Most schools should provide the healthy diet to the students daily. A healthy diet should include grains (like bread or rice), vegetables, fruits, dairy, meat, beans, or nuts every day digested by a human being. The faculty or aids of the cafeteria should make sure that every student has this on their plate/tray for lunch so we can make sure our students are getting the right nutrients their body needs daily. Also, a lot of water is good for a healthy diet because every body needs to stay hydrated to have the ability to get through each day. The path to healthy living isn't succesful without a healthy diet.
The last thing to healthy living for kids is making sure you can believe in yourself. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into and that you can at least try it out for yourself and believe in yourself that you can be able to do it. Trust, believe, and encourage are the words to remember when you are going through this "healthy process" so you don't lose control or try to quit. At least try once for yourself and know that you can do it, rather than giving up and not taking a shot at it. Also, trust in yourself that you can get through things, excercises, or trying healthy food and stepping away from the junk food. Just believe in who you are and knowing that you can change you not anyone else can. Trust, believe, and encourage yourself, and you will definitely stand out of the crowd with your rocking new body or feelings about things or even the new you on the inside. The path to healthy living for kids needs to include physical fitness or daily excercise at least for an hour, a healthy diet including the food pyramid and everything on it, and lastly just compliment yourself daily, encourage, and believe, and you would get through it.

This is an excellent, thorough post. Looking at that food pyramid though, I think the FDA is way off on emphasizing too many grains. Veggies, lean meat, nuts, fish, healthy fats...those should be the main focus in my opinion. Lots of people have success when they cut out all the junk food related to grains.
