Is It Really Nature?

As a repsonse to the banning of  Peter Parnell and Justin Richardson's children's book, "And Tango Makes Three" because of its apperently homosexual teachings of two male penguins working together to hatch a baby egg. To teach children that it is natural for two males to make a baby isn't right, even if it is just penguins, hatching an egg, in a cute story book. In the real world, that would almost never happen. Therefore, teaching that it's okay when really, it's not. This may be based on a true story but, it could be considered a miracle for a baby to be born with out a male and a female. Offspring cannot happen with out a male and a female. You may think I'm being unreasonable, and stressing about homosexual penguins isn't worth banning. But really, it is. It's teaching children falsely about nature. My intention is not to say anything against homosexuals, but really it's not nature and you cannot argue with that. The reason for banning this book is for the inproper teaching of two males producing offspring, which is imossible.

  1. I'm curious now to read this book, because the description said it was simply about a true story of how two male penguins hatched an egg. To my knowledge, this is quite common, because the mother is out getting food, or something like that. I could be wrong, but I think I saw that on March of the Penguins. :) At any rate, it doesn't seem like much of a controversy until you see the cover, which definitely seems to promote a certain way of looking at the issue. But then, what would we have to write about without little controversies like this? :)

  2. Very good post. You explained why you think it was right to be banned. I don't agree with you ,but it was written very good. Not to be rude, but the book doesn't say it had a baby. As in laying an actual egg. It doesn't say that. It says in the article that they found the egg, most likely abandoned, and adopted it and hatched. That does actually happen in real life. They sugar coated it a little with them being penguins, but 2 male adults do adopt and raise children. And I don't think that is wrong at all. The world is getting used to the fact that there are homosexuals in this world. It never said they were teaching little kids that it is right. However, why not inform them what is going on in the world around them, in a book? Yes, it is impossible for 2 males to have a child on their own. It isn't impossible for them to adopt one though. Just saying.
