What Am I Thankful For?

I'm thankful for life. The beauty of life itself, waking up every day and breathing, seeing the world I live in. I'm thankful for the loving faces I see every day. My dad, and my brother especially. Of course my best friends. I'm thankful for beautiful things, nature, God's creations. Sunsets and beaches. Music. I'm thankful for freedom, and living things. Animals and plants. It's a privilege to be alive. People die every day, let's all give thanks for all we have. All we can see. Everything and anything. I'm thankful for food, and hugs, and smiles. Sometimes it's hard to look around and find the beauty in life, normally it's not like me. But, I've grown an appreciation for everything, because anything can be taken away so easily, be thankful for what you have. Be thankful for who you are. And wake up with smiles and a positive attitude. Smile because you woke up this morning, don't stress about what you need to take care of in the future. Take a minute, look around, think of all you have. Be thankful for it. All of it.

P.E. Doesn't Hurt

Students all over the world dread doing P.E. every day. They complain about how its too hard and just not worth the energy. Well it really is not that hard to do about a hour of P.E. a day. P.E. can teach students allot of things; like teamwork, staying fit, keeping your body healthy, and taking part in activity's  P.E. can be fun. Many schools play games during P.E.; such as baseball, football, dodge ball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, sharks and minnows and much more. These games are usually very fun and involve allot of team work.

P.E. can help you stay very fit. Many of the activity's played in P.E. help get your heart rate going. The stretches and work out methods help you gain strength and muscle. Staying fit and keeping your body healthy is always good, P.E. is just one of the many things that helps you accomplish that goal.

Physical Education in Middle School

P.E. in middle school. My personal opinion on middle school P.E. is that I really don't care for it. The importance of P.E. is quite high for some people, but for others who don't like playing specific sports. People who don't like playing specific sports usually end up not even trying and end up hating P.E. An article that helped me figure out my opinion is linked above.
I personally have one activity that I think should not be played. That activity would be dodge ball. Why dodge ball? Well because it shows students that you can angrily throw dodge balls at people for fun. Also some students get out of the game very soon, which causes them to just sit there till the end of the game.
Most of the time we play sports like baseball and volleyball. A lot of students might not like either of those games. Usually those people end up not trying and just stand out in the field talking. What good is P.E. if you don't like doing the sports. I believe everyone should have a choice of what activity they want to do.
Many P.E. teachers just make the students run and then run some more. It does nothing if the students are being forced to run they usually just walk or don't try, and sometimes complain about it.
I get asked the same question quite often. Do you like P.E.? If not then why not? If so then why? I don't like P.E. One reason why is that I'm allergic to grass and I don't get to participate in certain activities, like baseball. Another reason nothing we do actually a noticeably affects my health. And lastly a majority of the students just complain about little things like doing 5 sit ups.

Worst Period of day: P.E.

The worst period of my day is P.E. We don't even do anything in P.E. that's important..I don't see why we need it. It's completely useless to have it as a grade, in the grade book, and it be an important part of our school day. I do understand that most of America needs physical education, but I don't see why the other people should do it. I believe it also shows the weakest and laziest of our grade. It really isn't fair because some kids are just born athletic.

Studies show that a large percent of America's population is obese. I do think that those people should still get attention physically. However, the other kids that are not, shouldn't be forced to do it. A good idea is to have an after school program to help those kids. Maybe if the people that just really love exercise, could go to the after school program too. No one would be forcing kids to go, maybe their parents, so they could have a choice. I know what you're probably thinking, " If we did that then you could argue with the other subjects about that." Well, the other subjects we need later in life. Kids don't realize it but, Math, English, Science, etc, we need that stuff later in life. Such as, when we have kids or get a job. P.E. we won't need later in life. Later in life we won't need to know how to sprint a mile run. We especially won't need to know how to get hit in the face with a ball everyday.

P.E. shows the weakest and the laziest of the grade also. Some kids just don't feel like running. I don't blame them. Our P.E. teachers shouldn't get mad, though, if we walk 1-2 laps. Walking is also good for your body. It shows the weakest too. Some kids, really, just can't run or do much active. At my school we have a rotating schedule and every time we have P.E, first, we have to run the mile. They expect us to run the mile after, staying up late, studying for a test that we are taking that day all night? Ha! They're crazy! It also isn't fair that some kids tease you because you're slower than them. Some kids are born with the athlete gene. They were born to run day and night. They were born with the perfect lungs, to breath amazing while running. Born with perfect legs, so they never get tired and walk or stop. Perfect heart and organs, so they all work perfectly at the same time, so blood gets to every part of your body. Making your whole body full of energy all the time( without poring a gallon of sugar down you throat.) Also they probably have the perfect stomach to keep down their breakfast. Luckily we get a break from all the running and being out of breath, once a week(Sometimes).

Having P.E. is a waste of 50 minutes of my life. Also if we are late we have to run a lap. It's not our fault our school can't afford a bigger locker room. (Yeah, we have to dress in front of each other). Our locker room is too small, that we have to wait outside for some of the other girls to get out, so we can get in. This is worse after P.E. is over, changing into our street clothes. Sometimes our teacher keeps us out of the locker room to long and we have to change super fast or we will be really late. Most of the time we are late and they don't give us passes.

In conclusion, P.E. is something our schools really don't need. If you really need to, than we should have a after school program. P.E. compares the weakest, strongest, and laziest to each other and pretty much grades us on it. In this video, it shows the two sides of a game that we don't even do in P.E. at our school. P.E. would probably be actually a little fun if we did. This is why I think P.E. is dumb and it should be taken out of our day at school.

Physical education for middle school students can be an iffy subject. A lot of schools don't find alright for kids to be forced to do an activity they don't like. I agree, kids should have the option to choose what they want to play for P.E. I can recall only running laps for P.E. and that was it. kids don't enjoy that therefore they don't put the kind of effort into it as they should.
Not everyone is good at a certain sport. A lot of students become humiliated when they lose. But, as a school they need to prepare students to survive in the real world. Babying them so they won't have the option to lose isn't fair for them in the long run.
Sure, watching a child lose or get hurt during a sport isn't fun. But, it never is. Kids need to learn now what it's like to be a loser at some things. You can't succeed at everything. It's a great life lesson.
Sometimes putting the image of being a winner can go to a child’s head. Making them feel dominant over other kids and becoming bullies. But, it’s good to know that you are the best at something. And if the other students don’t like it then they can get better!

Path to Healthy Living for Kids

The path to healthy living for kids includes physical fitness or daily excercise, a healthy diet, and encouraging and believing in yourself knowing that you can do it. Physical fitness is the main part in the healthy lifestyle because in this article it states 7 main reasons on why physical fitness is great for you. It does so many great things for yourself and your body. For example, it prevents from diseases, gets you strong muscles and good health, and it promotes academic learning. The path to healthy living should brighten and become more wider for the students future because what they started when they were young from doing P.E. daily and eating healthy food.
Physical fitness should be highly recommended to students in schools every single day whether you are running laps one day or playing dodgeball the next. It doesn't matter what students get to do or choose to do, but as long as it has something to do with excercising and moving your body because you never know what kids do when they get home. Some kids hardly ever go out and play wand those are the ones who need to do P.E. every day and run a few extra laps just to make sure they stay fit and they have a healthy heart. But, some kids do go out and play with their friends and excercise, good for them, but we still need to watch out and make sure every student has time to excercise daily. Even if P.E. is only for 10 minutes a day, it still can make a difference in kids lives. They should at least have physical education for an hour a day, just to make sure kids are staying active. Also, schools should have kids do what they choose to during P.E. some days so we at least know that they are going to stay active picking what they want to do. Some kids might not like dodgeball, but are still forced to play, which leads to no cooperation with that student, maybe injuries, and lack of having a healthy lifestyle. So we still want the child to have P.E. everyday, but just get their opinion on what they want to do and let them do it so they can stay active and enjoy what they are doing. As a team we can build our students up into a strong, healthy, and encouraged teenager and into adults.
Also, healthy living includes a healthy diet. Most schools should provide the healthy diet to the students daily. A healthy diet should include grains (like bread or rice), vegetables, fruits, dairy, meat, beans, or nuts every day digested by a human being. The faculty or aids of the cafeteria should make sure that every student has this on their plate/tray for lunch so we can make sure our students are getting the right nutrients their body needs daily. Also, a lot of water is good for a healthy diet because every body needs to stay hydrated to have the ability to get through each day. The path to healthy living isn't succesful without a healthy diet.
The last thing to healthy living for kids is making sure you can believe in yourself. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into and that you can at least try it out for yourself and believe in yourself that you can be able to do it. Trust, believe, and encourage are the words to remember when you are going through this "healthy process" so you don't lose control or try to quit. At least try once for yourself and know that you can do it, rather than giving up and not taking a shot at it. Also, trust in yourself that you can get through things, excercises, or trying healthy food and stepping away from the junk food. Just believe in who you are and knowing that you can change you not anyone else can. Trust, believe, and encourage yourself, and you will definitely stand out of the crowd with your rocking new body or feelings about things or even the new you on the inside. The path to healthy living for kids needs to include physical fitness or daily excercise at least for an hour, a healthy diet including the food pyramid and everything on it, and lastly just compliment yourself daily, encourage, and believe, and you would get through it.

Middle School P.E

Many have asked the question, “is P.E. good or bad". I for one think that it is needed but not as much that we do now.
Every day we do the same thing, run, stretch, and play some boring game. If this is all we do, we shouldn't have to do that every day. We need better activities if we must do this every school day. We should have activities such as football or dodge ball, even though there are many schools that have decided to get rid of all competitive sports. They do this so that children don't get physically or mentally hurt. We need these sports, we are naturally competitive and that needs to be incorporated in our school P.E..
Some say that standard P.E. should be completly removed and replaced with games that are child friendly and doesn't make children competative. This is ridiculous, we need this, as I stated earlier, we are naturally competative and need to have competition.
All in all, we need physical education.
